Pillow Talk

Here's what I've been working on this week :)  I wanted to post it earlier but since it was a gift, I didn't want to spoil the surprise :)

I already had most of the materials on hand, except for the Osnaburg fabric.  Remember the burlap ribbon I used to decorate my Christmas Tree?  I used some of it to add around the pillow.  I found my burlap ribbon at Ella Elaine's booth at the Antique Company Mall in McKinney.  I absolutely LOVE that place!  I also purchased some fancy stencils to personalized the pillow. A little bit of bling to the final touch and voilĂ !

Here's another little pillow I had time to squeeze in my week.  Ok... my close friends know how "off" I really am.  No, not mentally (well maybe a little - haha).  I realize I didn't center the ruffle.  If I had, you'd know I probably didn't make it!  I always seem to be off center or slightly crooked.
When my cousin saw the small pillow, she thought she'd use it for the ring bearer to carry.  Nice :)

Snowed In with Cabin Fever!

I'm sure so many people were experiencing cabin fever the past few days.  It didn't help that we had just grounded my son from playing any video games or watching TV either (11 year-old attitude - UGH!) It was more torture for us than it was for him.  My daughter just turned 16 and she had her birthday present to keep her busy!  She was blessed enough to get a NOOKcolor!  That WAS perfect timing!
Since I've had plenty of time on my hands from being snowed in and not going anywhere in four days - I've been wishing and hoping for spring and warm weather!  I've been focusing on spring-like colors and making fabric flowers :)  I have a bag full & can't wait to put them together!  I'm hoping to sell a few but I'll have to keep them hidden from my daughter or she will take over!

OK well - Maybe I'll have to make something WITHOUT cheetah print so she won't want it.  (I just now realized they all have some kind of cheetah print)

On the Wild Side

It's been quite a while since I've had the time to post.  Here are some things that have kept me busy.

My daughter absolutely adores anything cheetah or leopard print!  She's been bugging me to add something cheetah print to her plain jeans.  I've had this bag in my closet just taking up space and thought it was time to repurpose the old thing.

American Eagle jeans with a wild back side.
Since students aren't allowed to wear holes in their jeans, I added a "holy" patch.

These Miss Me jeans have seen their day!
Below is what they use to look like!
The metal chain eventually started to come off and  I replaced it with  cheetah fabric.

It was a little difficult to use the metal chain link as a template since it was missing a few links.  Instead - I used a new dryer sheet to trace the area that needed to be filled.  The dryer sheet was thick enough to draw on and sheer enough to see through.  :)
