Spring Break

I don't know about you, but I wish we were still experiencing the winter weather.  Since spring "sprung" way too early, I didn't expect my allergies to be so bad!  The itchy/sore eyes, sore throat and sneezing are worse now than ever!  But it's nothing a little retail therapy (and allergy meds) can't cure!  My family was visiting for their spring break.  The guys were fishing and us gals hit the fabric shops!  It's crazy how I can react to seeing such beauty!  As soon as I walk in the doors to beautiful fabric shops, my heart starts to speed up!  My eyes start shifting toward all the bright hues and patterns, and my mind is racing with the possibilities of what could be created with everything in sight!!
Sorry for the blurry pictures.  I was spazzing out just a tad.

I have plans of returning to all the fabric stores and hope to start adding these beautiful textiles to my home!

I try avoiding being outside in the beautiful, pollen infested weather. My eyes just can't take it!  And, since I'm inside, I may as well get to work.  Take a look at some of my creations :)

Embellished chanklas (flip-flops) & matching ring.

I also added these sweet rosettes to more caps.

I hope to post more pictures of these lovely rosettes soon!

Happy Holidays :)

It's been quite a while since I've posted.  Life has taken over!  It seems as if I live on the road these days.  My kids are heavy into sports.  My son just wrapped up cross-country and is now starting middle school basketball.  My daughter's soccer team has had to travel out of state a couple of times within the last few months, which put my creativity on hold.  My mind is still coming up with ideas to work on, but I need to find the time to actually do it! Don't forget to visit Cat's Alley on facebook

Meanwhile, I'll be posting pictures of life's treasures every now and then.
Here's one to get your appetite going!  These Biscochos have been a tradition in our family for as long as I can remember!  They are a must-have at Christmas... along with some good 'ole Mexican hot chocolate!  My daughter made some for her semester final in food & nutrition and I'm soooo happy she did! :) yum!!!  She used a combination of our home-town recipe and one from Muy Bueno Cookbook.  The cookbook should be available in the fall of 2012.  I can't wait to get my hands on all those recipes!

I hope y'all are enjoying the cooler weather and wish everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Don't get me wrong! I'm so happy to be super busy these last few months!  So many things are going on at once, finally :)  Homecoming season started off with a bAnG!  I've been steadily taking orders for the school spirit rings and have also gotten the chance to make spirit rings, spirit sticks & head wear for youth team sports!  Thanks to my wonderful friends/family, I'm now branching out to different parts of Texas!  Homecoming mums & Garters have always been a Texas tradition but Spirit rings are a new novelty item to those in the west Texas area and can now be found at Jazzi Girlz Jewelz Boutique 4555 E. University Suite B-11, Odessa, TX

Jazzi's Owner has an eye for the trendiest fashion accessories.  You won't find what every other store has in west Texas.  She offers a variety of items!  Purses ~ jewelry ~ shoes ~ home decor & tons of children's accessories!  Cat's Alley is one of the artists featured at Jazzi Girls Jewelz Boutique! Look for Jazzi on FB and "like" her page!

You can also visit Cat's Alley on Facebook and "Like" the page to let me know you were there!  More than likely, I'll be posting on fb a lot more than my blog.    Browse through the pictures of the cute caps I've been working on!  If you see something you'd like to order, leave me a message :)
Enjoy the pics!

Fluff & Stuff

If you're on Facebook, like Cat's Alley

While I'm making these fluffly things, I catch up on my novela, Triunfo del Amor.  I'm too impatient to watch it on TV.  My BFF told me about dailymotion.com.  Apparently, the novela is ahead in Mexico and now I can watch episode after episode...I can't get enough of that soap!
